Item type:Publication, Evolución de repositorio institucional hacia un sistema CRIS: impacto, preservación y visibilidad del patrimonio científico de la experiencia UCA(Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas, 2026-07-20); La gestión de la producción científica institucional ha estado históricamente centrada en repositorios digitales orientados al almacenamiento y acceso abierto de documentos. Sin embargo, este modelo presenta limitaciones para representar integralmente la actividad investigativa: los objetos se preservan, pero sus relaciones académicas —autores, proyectos, financiamiento, líneas de investigación y evolución temática— permanecen fragmentadas. Como resultado, la institución conserva archivos, pero no logra reconstruir su memoria científica ni evidenciar plenamente su impacto. Este trabajo sistematiza la transición de un repositorio institucional tradicional hacia un sistema CRIS (Current Research Information System), analizando cómo este cambio modifica la lógica de preservación, pasando de un enfoque documental a uno relacional. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Artificial Intelligence and Current Research Information Systems(euroCRIS, 2026-05-22)CRIS2026 keynote by the euroCRIS Board member and lead for the AI4RIS WG providing an overview of the current state of AI, its opportunities and challenges. Specifically on AI in CRIS, the discussion focuses on the use of AI on the knowledge infrastructure through which institutions understand, represent, evaluate, and expose their research. Potential privacy issues and the imbalance of non-reciprocal reuse of research information by tech companies are examined, together with a number of structural ethical and epistemic risks associated with the use of AI. A three-pillar strategy for the responsible use of AI is presented in the areas of governance, principles and tools. A call is made for the operationalisation of FAIR for the era of AI: it's not enough for the data to be reusable; its license must be clear, machine-readable, and suitable for training AI models. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Predictive AI for Socially-Aware and Legally-Compliant Research Policy in CRIS Systems(euroCRIS, 2026-05-22); This contribution investigates the use of predictive AI models to develop socially-aware and evidence-based research policy within CRIS systems. Predictive AI serves not only to forecast future research developments but also as a tool to simulate complex socio-technical interactions where policy decisions, scientific practices, legal frameworks, and societal expectations intersect. The aim is to enable decision-makers to compare different policy scenarios, anticipate potential impacts, and make strategic decisions based on solid evidence. Item type:Publication, Sameness Where It Matters, Uniqueness Where It Counts with Community as a pillar – A CRIS Perspective(euroCRIS, 2026-05-21)Open-source CRIS platforms are increasingly positioned as public digital infrastructure that must simultaneously deliver interoperability, sustainability and room for institutional differentiation. This presentation explores an evidence-informed account of how a shared open-source CRIS core can reconcile these sometimes-competing demands without relying on a single institutional exemplar. Drawing on aggregated, cross-institutional implementation experience from a community of DSpace-CRIS deployments supported by PCG Academia, the presentation describes architectural patterns, governance measures and community practices that preserve a common technical foundation while enabling local customization.
