Item type:Publication, A comparison of research output counting methods using a national CRIS – effects at the institutional level(euroCRIS, 2014-05-14); ; Recent decades have seen a trend towards scientific publications with many authors. There is not an agreed way of counting coauthored publications. This research in progress contribution compares the behaviour of four representative methods of counting research outputs. We present differences between those methods of counting evaluated at the level of whole universities, their faculties, or non-university research institutes. Item type:Publication, Monitoring ORCID adoption using a national and an institutional CRIS(euroCRIS, 2024-05-17); ; We evaluate the level of adoption of ORCID identifiers based on the data of the Czech national CRIS and of the ORCID public data dump. By analyzing this data we establish the proportion of researchers with ORCID profiles. We look into the level of activity of these profiles and we also study the ramp-up periods of reporting ORCID iDs by Czech research performing organizations. A section of this picture is further refined using an institutional CRIS: we identify key factors that predict the level of activity of the ORCID records. We also describe the process and timeline of collecting of ORCID iDs in the CTU institutional CRIS. We observe that the adoption of ORCID iDs by researchers in Czech research performing organizations is underway, but far from complete. Institutions’ level of adoption and reporting vary considerably, showing that different institutions are at different stages of the adoption curve. An example shows that with time the adoption can become close to complete. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Institutional Scientific Output and Citation Coverage in OpenAlex: The Case of the Czech Technical University in Prague(euroCRIS, 2026-05-21); ; The Czech Technical University in Prague (ROR ID https://ror.org/03kqpb082; CTU in the sequel) runs its in-house built institutional CRIS called V3S (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.procs.2019.01.077) which covers the institution’s scholarly output since the 1990-ies. CTU relies on the Web of Science and Scopus citation databases for signaling new publications of its authors and for tracking citations. An earlier (2019) attempt to evaluate the level of coverage of citations in an open information source (https://doi.org/10.2478/jdis-2020-0037) showed an unsatisfactory level of coverage. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A National CRIS Infrastructure as the Cornerstone of Transparency in the Research Domain(euroCRIS, 2012-06-07); The Czech Research, Development and Innovation Information System is the key component of the national research information infrastructure in the Czech Republic. The role of the national CRIS has traditionally been strong. We present the usage data of the Czech R&D&I Information System: it is being used massively and frequently. We thus argue that for the trust-challenged niche of the Czech research domain, the information system presents a real cornerstone of transparency.
