    In Croatia, the MetaRegister, managed by The Ministry of Justice, Administration, and Digital Transformation is a central catalogue that documents data available from various government authorities and public services. It lays the groundwork for an integration of information systems within public administration, with one of the goals being to reduce paper use in public services. MetaRegister provides essential details for managing and connecting institutions' data within public services. This way data exchange saves costs on technical maintenance and communication tools. Also, institutions using the data do not need to know the exact source of the information.

    The Role of CRIS as a Glue for National e-infrastructure and Digital Services for Open Science

    Under the guidance of the University of Zagreb, University Computing Centre – SRCE, the Croatian Open Science Cloud (HR-OOZ) Initiative has been started, concentrating on producing a draft of the national plan and policies for open science by defining the initiative's structure and principles. The Croatian Research Information System (CroRIS) serves as the repository of HR-OOZ services and resources, solidifying our dedication to cultivating an atmosphere that encourages open science practices in Croatia. As the national Current Research Information System (CRIS), CroRIS actively promotes open science by ensuring the reliability of information, openness, and interoperability, and providing essential support for informed decision-making. In doing so, CroRIS serves as a cornerstone in advancing the scientific landscape in Croatia and contributing to the scientific community. On top of that, CroRIS helps automate and orchestrate other computing and data services.

    CroRIS Data Quality Issues and Possible Solutions

    There have been previous presentation of the Croatian national CRIS (CroRIS) at various euroCRIS events. These provided updates on its architecture, design, modules and the role it will take as a NOSC service catalogue as well. This presentation addresses the so far little-discussed topic of data quality, especially taking into account the various sources of data being migrated and blended into CroRIS and the large number of its everyday users. The presentation describes the complex research information landscape in Croatia prior to the arrival of CroRIS and the various workflows and system role definitions adopted by the national CRIS initiative to optimise the quality of the data held in it and the way it's displayed to the outside world.
