Abstract:
The presentation examines the workflows needed in order to implement the FAIR principles for research data (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, Reusability). FAIR data information infrastructures and services can in principle be developed and managed by different organisations /entities than the ones that deal with storage infrastructures. It's argued that CRIS systems are core elements of the technological solution. The CERIF data model and the 3-layer metadata model developed by euroCRIS for research data are additional relevant elements of the proposed model, together with a service and support solution for the management of the dataset information. The workflows around research data management at Radboud University and DANS are shown as an example for this model.
