dc.description20 slides.-- Presentation delivered within the session "Open Science and FAIR Data"en_US
The presentation examines the various workflows around research data management at institutions -- within the lab vs within the world at large -- for data producing, storing, sharing and re-using against a background of an increasing demand for best practices in RDM from research funders and institutions. The FAIR data principles are brought down to ten components, and it's argued that an optimal RDM practice should involve a regular information exchange process between the RDM platform and the institutional CRIS, which is able to provide the contextual information on projects, grants, people and organisational units. Storing dataset records in the CRIS will also allow these to be reported alongside other research outputs like publications, thus increasing the FAIRness of data..en_US
