Abstract:
DSpace-CRIS is the only free open source Research Management Systems in the world, available at: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACECRIS/DSpace-CRIS+Home. Its data model represents the whole research ecosystem (CERIF entities and relationships such as Researchers, OrgUnits, Projects, Outputs: publications, datasets, etc.). Its features and recent enhancements are detailed in the online roadmap.

DSpace-CRIS is supported by a large community. The main contributors to DSpace-CRIS are some top universities in Asia, among which: Hong Kong University (first contributor), Polytechnic University Hong Kong, National University Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Polytechnic, National Taiwan University, and in Europe: the Fraunhofer Society, and the universities of Kassel, TUH Hamburg, Bamberg, Goettingen, Trieste, Hasselt, Coimbra. DSpace-CRIS also received funding from OpenAIRE for interoperability enhancements and compliance with OpenAIRE guidelines and COAR NGR recommendations.

This presentation is about two take-home messages:

1. DSpace CRIS is the missing infrastructure bridge between CRIS (based on CERIF) and the EOSC (sharing datasets), being a FAIR data repository, compliant with ORCID, OpenAIRE Guidelines for Data Archives, DataCite for minting DOIs, integrated with CKAN to allow visualization and analysis of datasets.

2. 4Science has just been awarded for the implementation of the OpenAIRE-CRIS-CERIF Guidelines in DSpace-CRIS, to enable institutions to expose research information to OpenAIRE in CERIF format.
