Abstract:
Large communities of research-intensive institutions tend to establish standards in order to communicate among them or with third-parties. EuroCRIS is an example of that, but countries tend to also use standards to find ways of retrieving research data from their numerous institutions. In this presentation we explore how Converis, a configurable CRIS system, is supporting some initiatives namely the KDSF (Germany) and the REF (U.K.) in order to help institutions to comply with them with minimal effort. In addition, we explore how the flexibility of Converis' data model compares and aligns with the VIVO ontology and how institutions using Converis are currently integrating with this open source research portal.
